Lucille Boitelle is an ornamental painter. In her studio, she imagines materials, patterns and panoramic decorations designed to inhabit spaces. Through these compositions, she explores a contemporary approach to decoration, attentive to the poetry of places and their dialogue with architecture.

ce setting up her studio in 2017, Lucille has been developing numerous bespoke projects alongside her collections. Her signature designs, available as hand-painted wallpaper, textiles, carpets, ceramics and marquetry, are conceived as images to be transposed and hybridised, designed to move from one material to another. In a deliberately collaborative approach, she works with prestigious architects, interior designers and publishers such as Le studio Chloé Nègre, Pierre Frey, Nobilis and larsen.
Deeply attached to the narrative power of decoration, she sees each creation as a small paper theatre that must be brought to life. Inspired by everything that animates her: Nabis painting, the clarity of the beaches of the North, and the cinema of Agnès Varda, her creations stem from an idealistic and embodied artistic practice.
The year 2025 marks a major turning point in her career. Winner of the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris (City of Paris Grand Prize for Creation, in the Artistic Crafts category) and supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation, Lucille Boitelle is now continuing to develop her ‘materials library of possibilities’. A true R&D project, it brings together a collection of designs intended to be interpreted by artisans and manufacturers according to their preferred materials. By creating a dialogue between support and surface, this project affirms a resolutely unique vision of design and paves the way for new large-scale collaborations.
