Convinced that the setting plays a key role in the dialogue between medium and surface, my painting project readily unfolds through collaboration with other creators.
For Collectible, I present ‘Villégiature’, an installation that explores the decorative richness of tableware. A contemporary variati
on on Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe, this project examines our relationship with the elements, the landscape and memories.
At the heart of this work, a painted setting depicts a table laid out on the seashore. Placed in front of the framed artwork, three elements depicted in the painting (a carafe and two
stemmed glasses) take shape and materialise in ceramic. By inviting the ceramicist Marine Gautier to collaborate with me on this project, I am embracing a fully collaborative vision of the work and blurring all boundaries between dream and reality.
