Fashion Show - Bachelor Collection

“Anyone who either cannot lead the common life or is so self-sufficient as not to need to, and therefore does not partake of society, is either a beast or a god.” Aristotle

My collection is for common people. Not gods, not beasts. People who take part in the community.

oject of Jan Dibbets: “TV as a Fireplace”. In 1960 he said that the TV, like a Fireplace, is a community place. I am inspired by this project because of two aspects. The first is the community aspect, the second the digital world era.
“Il n’existe pas de je sans tu” is the title of my collection. I represent this sense of community in my pieces by using tartan motives. In Scotland, the different tartans are symbols of each clan. The tartan is the guide line in my collection (in the print, in the structure of the fabric, etc.)
Secondly, I like the aesthetics of the imperfect digital imagery (pixels, blur, etc...) and it is a part of my collection, in print as well as in the communication (Photo-shooting).

For the creative process, I used pictograms as a base that I transformed with photoshop tools. in “Tv as a fire place” the fire is something natural and analog that is transformed digitaly (TV), as are pictograms; something analog that i digitalized. The pictogram is a universal way to communicate and to unify people. I like the global and communal aspect of it, thus I am using it in my process. Then i go back to paper, take my distorted pictogram silhouettes, and draw various look interpretation. My focus is the structure of the clothing, the graphic aesthetic aspect and the experimentation of the fabrics.
