BABY MOON
(a project by Chris Le and Anna Bremnes)

This is a project that explores collaboration as a format as well as the potential of a speculative approach.

Anna Bremnes and Chris Le’s “Baby Moon” explores the compatibility of their individual design and hybrid expression.

egy, they established themselves as main characters in a story about a moon in an unknown universe. “Baby Moon” echoes retro-futuristic film, cyberpunk architecture, video games, literature and photographs of the universe.

Anna and Chris abandon sci-fi motifs that allude to contemporary discussions of gender, sexuality, culture and environment in order to birth a new one. “Baby Moon”, a genderless moon, is the manifestation of their dual expression.

The story behind Baby Moon:

We come from different planets within the same solar system that share the same moon. Anna is from a cold planet and Chris is from a warm. The moon our planets share was originally a part of a larger moon. At one point it broke into two and one piece formed into a “Baby Moon”. “Baby Moon” does not rotate so there is a side we never see. On the dark side of the moon, Anna and Chris meet for the first time. Dark oceans and empty spaces inspire the two to form a new expression. Each planet in combination with darkness creates the formula 1 + 1 = 3
