I wanted to make a menswear collection that challenges the perceptions of masculinity.
The denim industry is one of the most gender specific industries in the world.
Since it was created as work wear in the 18th century it hasn’t really changed.
My main focus was to investigate the borders between ma
sculinity and femininity.
I worked with traditional denim wear and my aim was to make it more queer and
flamboyant. I found the inspiration from old mine-workers and drag queens,
trying to combine the two very different aestethics to make an intersection.
With my collection i wanted to blur the boundaries of gender.
