Cédric Breisacher
Eyes on Talents member, Cédric Breisacher is participating in the Biennale Émergences 2025 from 10 to 13 Aprill, at the CN D in Pantin, curated by Helena Ichbiah and Véronique Maire. Designer-sculptor and JAD resident since 2022, Cédric Breisacher presents the current state of his research in two parts. On the one hand, his creations carved from solid wood and patinated with vegetable dyes. The INTUITIVE ARCHAÏSME collection echoes a necessary call to the Earth, a return to simple things, to the soil and the present, where the object is created through an intuitive construction process, as it is carved with a gouge. On the other hand, the reuse of waste created during the manufacturing process, in his case wood shavings. This work is reflected in the manifesto collection NOT WASTED, where each object tells the story of the life cycle of its material. NOT WASTED asks the following question: Can an object raise the environmental awareness of its user?
Driven by ultra-local manufacturing and linked to an instinctive production process, Cédric Breisacher's creations attempt to re-establish a dialogue that respects the living world, where the hand and the sensation of touch are at the centre.
