French Pavilion
"Vivre avec / Living with" project by Jakob+MacFarlane has been selected to represent France at the Biennale Architettura 2025. "Vivre avec / Living with" questions the ability of architecture to meet the challenges of climate change, conflict and global instability. To do this, the project calls on three intelligences: the intelligence of nature, human intelligence and artificial intelligence. The title and theme of the Biennale Architettura 2025, which will take place from 10 May to 23 November 2025 is "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective". At the last edition, the French pavilion was designed by Muoto, Georgi Stanishev and Clémence La Sagna, under the name "Ball Theater - La fête n'est pas finie".

The biennial CTBC Painting Prize is dedicated to uplifting innovative young and mid-career artists, encouraging the creation of contemporary paintings. Embracing an open approach with no restrictions on themes, mediums, and sizes, the Prize encourages artists to boldly explore and challenge, thereby presenting the possibilities of painting creation.

AJ Small Projects Award
The 2024 AJ Small Projects Award winner is The Farmer’s Arms Cold Food Store by Hayatsu Architects and Grizedale Arts. The Farmer’s Arms Cold Food Store was built on the side of a former pub in the Lake District, United Kingdom, for a local arts organisation specialising in crafts. Constructed as part of an annual building school at which international participants learned and exchanged craft skills, the structure’s design adapts traditional Japanese storage building typologies with locally sourced materials. It also used traditional Japanese shikkui plaster.

The All About Photo Awards recognise the best individual images by photographers from all over the world. The 1st Place Winner for Photographer of the Year 2024 is Roberta Vagliani (Italy) with her image The right to know. "Nelson Mandela said "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world". This image was taken in a school in Zanzibar, where there are no desks, chairs or school supplies. All these little girls own is a notebook and their own memory. Knowledge is passed on to them by a single master. In every person there is the possibility to transform the world." explains Roberta Vagliani.

Focus Stand Prize
Portuguese gallery Madragoa has been announced as the winner of this year’s Focus Stand Prize at Frieze New York 2024. The Lisbon art space was awarded for its solo presentation of the work of Portuguese artist Sara Chang Yan. Madragoa’s project by Sara Chang Yan marks the evolution of the series "Alinhamentos." Embracing the expansion of drawing beyond paper, she delves into video, sound, and spatial installations, encapsulating the intrinsic essence that motivates the act of drawing. Residing on the remote island of Pico in the Azores, and identifying as a queer individual of Chinese origins, Chang Yan's art serves as a profound tool to make visible an inner investigation, to express a mystical relationship of the human being with the natural landscape, their common essence, and to subvert ideological and social hierarchies.

Fonds de soutien au livre photo jeunesse
Olivia Arthur is the winner of the 1st edition of the Fonds de soutien au livre photo jeunesse for her project Lee and the Sea Things (original title), which tackles the issue of suicide through the story of a little girl who tries to understand why she doesn't have a mother, and meets the "sea things" that took her away. Olivia Arthur is a documentary photographer whose work explores individuals and their personal and cultural identities. In her work she experiments with varied forms and photography's ability to tell complex stories. Her first book, Jeddah Diary(2009), explores the challenges and contradictions of women's private lives in Saudi Arabia. Her second, Stranger (2015), explores Dubai's present through the prism of a shipwreck in 1961 and unfolds as a journey through the city.
