I wanted to design an innovative housing project reserved for young professionals. I established it into the Halle du Rouvray, a former metal and wood workshop located in the heart of the district of la Villette, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.
The architectural principle is ba
sed on the desire to preserve the building's original shell and industrial character, by integrating independent and interconnected housing units. Those respect the strong dynamic of the existing roff sheds.
Particular attention has been paid to the nature and relation between private spaces and shared spaces, and appropriable areas has been made available to the residents.
The purpose is to create a place that is not static but able to live, move and evolve due to people who live in it. These young professionals may travel or change their living environment after a few months or years. The accommodations that I propose are a step between shared student apartment and future housing, and also provide a free setting for everyone needs.
