Alec Vivier-Reynaud
Eyes on Talents member, Alec Vivier-Reynaud, is a french graphic designer and bio-designer working at the intersection of biology and graphic design. Graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, his diploma project "Mycographiae: Symbiosis of organic matters and the instant" proposes a new paradigm where images become living beings. His researches tangibly interact and collaborate with the fungal ecosystems surrounding us. Within this new perspective, the graphic designer invents ‘mycography’, a new bio-printing process using biological inks made of micro-fungi. By using living organisms as a primary material for reflection, he creates collaborative spaces where new visual and material paradigms emerge. Alec Vivier-Reynaud cultivates the ephemeral and the serendipity and allows us to perceive the profound interconnectedness of all things and the interdependence between tools of existence and extinction.
