Jean-Baptiste Durand
Eyes on Talents member, Jean-Baptiste Durand, is taking part in the group exhibition, NéoPaléo, Une capsule temporelle du design, on show at the Galerie des Ateliers de Paris until 31 October, as part of Paris Design Week 2025. The exhibition, curated by the design duo BehaghelFoiny – Antoine Behaghel & Alexis Foiny, aims to write a history of design between past, present and future, bringing together the creations of fifteen designers in a beautiful collision of ancestral techniques and cutting-edge innovations. In the exhibition, Jean-Baptiste Durand presents his Dystopian Remains Spring Chair. In his work, the Paris-based designer explores the interplay between architecture and scenography, furniture and non-utilitarian objects. Inspired by a variety of technical languages, whether derived from ancestral or technological know-how, Jean-Baptiste Durand works as if he were sampling, composing with the evocations of these universes. His practice seeks to escape the conventional labels of designer or artist, a cross-disciplinary fluency that allows him to be guided by the inspiration of the moment, embracing the freedom of sensitive creativity.
