Serra Studio

Eyes on Talents member, Mike Ruiz-Serra, is a New York based designer and fabricator who studied Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. With his favored medium: paper pulp, he created a furniture collection aptly named PULP made from 100% post consumer paper pulp and OSB (a type of engineered wood similar to particle board). Mike Ruiz-Serra sees Franz West and Scott Burton as the work’s aesthetic forebears. "I think my greatest takeaway has been the idea that sustainable production is much more attainable if we stop embracing modern standards of refinement." said the designer.
