This project started with a one-week workshop with shoes designer and consultant Joaquim de Callataÿ. I chose to work the material with a graphic approach.I used the laser cutting technique as a way to work on both softness and rigidity. But it also allows me to play with transparency through the gra
phic cuts. Thanks to laser technique, leather becomes a more malleable material though still rigid where the laser burnt the skin. The project results in a small leather goods collection with graphic laser cuts as to soften the folding lines and to subtly reveal the inside.
