My name is Julia Härle, I graduated from AMD Berlin in 2023 with a Bachelor in Fashion Design. Since then I have realized two post-graduate projects including one exhibition.
I started my Master in the beginning of this year at the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin in Apparel Technology,
but moved to Antwerp in January this year, as I received the opportunity to start a five month internship at the label Christian Wijnants, which I just completed.
I am now moving to Paris to take the next step in my career.
I have mainly experience with Women‘s Ready-to-wear, but am very open and positive about gaining exprience in Men‘s RTW.

I had the opportunity to join the studio team at Christian Wijnants which has served as a great counter and also been complementary to my previous work experience. Because the brand has their own in-house atelier I got to work with a hands on approach directly on the collection.
This included everyth
ing from creative problem solving to executing prototypes and showpieces by means of pattern drafting, drapage and sewing. I also got the opportunity to head the development of the footwear for the last runway show at PFW which taught me a lot about the process of building a product line and collection.
For the current collection, I got to work on the print development which was completely new ground for me. This got me to expand my skill set, with watercolours for three weeks on a variety of fabric compositions from silk and cotton. I learned a lot about applying colour, how it interacts with the material and how to digitally compose the results for the final garment.

This award was part of a 4 day exhibition in Krefeld and we received the opportunity to get to know other young talents and professionals from the industry. I spent my first six month internship as part of the creative team at Stand Studio in Stockholm. Stand Studio did not have an in-house atelier and each season included a wide range of pieces, resulting in almost daily fittings. My in depth correspondence with the factories led to mastery of technical
drawings and packs, comment sheets, and the many other aspects of product and collection development. I learned a lot about critically looking at garments and focussing on the possible difficulties of designs which was of great assistance in every other project I have worked on after.
