Nanyi Li, Master-Absolventin der Studienrichtung Mode der BURG, wurde auf der Best Graduates' Show der Neo.Fashion. im Rahmen der Fashion Week Berlin in der Katgorie Best Sustainability Concept für ihre Kollektion „Blumen im Nebel“ ausgezeichnet.
Nanyi Li, a Chinese-born conceptual designer based in Berlin, ventures into a diverse array of creative fields, spanning from fashion and contemporary jewelry to digital art, 3D printing, and traditional craftsmanship. Her exploration delves into questions about value, culture, time, memory, and soci
ety. With a penchant for experimenting with various materials and techniques, as well as collecting found objects, her work often juxtaposes familiar and foreign, luxury and cheap, traditional and contemporary, artificial and natural elements.
Currently, her focus is on conceptual sustainable fashion, particularly in the realm of upcycling textile waste. While her sustainable design principles prioritize circular, ecological, and fair practices within the fashion and textile industries, they are seamlessly intertwined with her artistic and conceptual pursuits. Central to her design philosophy is the commitment to repurpose existing materials, thereby minimizing waste generation, while also embracing artistic expression and innovation. Her dedication to sustainability extends beyond fashion design to encompass all her artwork, utilizing a range of materials including found, natural, reusable, recyclable, and eco-friendly resources.
