The Talking Heads or Mechanical Turks 2015/16 are two automatons representing a symbiosis between man and machine.
From a designer's perspective, the project was an unseen challenge. Everything was designed throughout the making process using trial and error - intuition. Within that freedom of design

ing a sculpture, the final shape grew organically defined by the surrounding material supply, workshop, and artistic concept. No part is made, designed, or constructed without purpose. Instead, the organic making process exemplifies how any person without education but a strong urge could have built this automaton in their backyard. Hence this mechanical orchestra invites everyone of every level of society to observe the moving clockwork-like heads.

Ten moving elements had to be developed and made: the jaw, tongue, eyes, eyelids, nose, ears, and the basin itself. Three electric engines drive through an arrangement of chains, cogwheels, levelers, and counterweights.
Lastly, all the hinges and moving parts are oiled constantly by an oil fountain that runs through several thin copper pipes to the top.

The artistic concept and positioning are as follows:

A talking head is an interview filmed with the contributor's head and shoulders in vision. Related to the same band name, who portrayed society's dependence on these "truth and news" talking men. The example shows further the merger of television and the depicted speaking moderators as an equal merger of human and machine. The head-shoulder shot is regarded as the existential part of communication. The truth-teller globally, of so-called "heads," could be talking anything. A global village was born, as McLuhan used to say.

The Danger of getting fake news, as we know it, is a big issue today, and the artwork's second root explains. Thus, the underlying second concept relates to the chess Turk, an Austrian automaton that could play chess but was fake. People regarded it for a period as a miracle and the future. The dwarf hired to put in the box below demonstrates humans' nature of telling stories that cross every border and cover the truth in thick blankets of desires. Finally, everyone should be more critical of information and what it does to the biological chemistry of being human.
