Rossella De Palo's mini interview about my recent work and my profile as a knitwear designer
I am Andrea Zanola, I am a knitwear designer and I have always been fascinated by fashion design, art and costumes.
I have always been passionate about design and style. I find that knitwear is one of the best expression of my creativity, that I’ve reached during my university studies at Politecnico
di Milano and later during a Masters course in Creative Knitwear Design at Accademia Costume and Moda in Partnership with Modateca Deanna.
I have started working in the role of knitwear designer for an Italian brand, Ermanno Scervino, since December 2017 and since March 2019 I have also been working in the role of product developer knitwear. This experience has given me the opportunity to follow the entire process that leads to the creation of a collection. This has allowed me to grow professionally in dynamic, flexibility and commitment.
I have recently started a project called Patchouli Studio (@patchouli_studio) which focuses on the idea of a more sustainable way to approach to fashion. Ethically designed and sourced from over production materials sponsored by some italian knitwear factories. bespoke knitwear is also fundamental to the project and all the pieces have been handcrafted by me.
I believe that professional growth can be achieved through continuous renewal of working experiences. I really would like to experience fashion in a different environment that will stimulates my creativity much more.
