Furniture music (in French « musique d’ameublement »), sometimes more literally translated as furnishing music, is a background music originally played by live performers to fill the sound space. The term was coined by Erik Satie in 1917.

nd create furniture that is no longer simply a functional or decorative item. In short, to link music and design to highlight the way that furniture can create musical sounds. The objective is also to show a different kind of interaction through the medium of a video clip using a particular song. This soundtrack will then be adapted to the furniture in order to develop a unique soundscape.
