My collection "Digital Desires" explores the untouchability of the digital age.Typically within the jewellery world a huge amount of value is still placed on materiality or precious materials. However, we also now place a lot of value in our digital data too. My pieces represent the dip between reali
ty and virtual reality.
A play on the classic pearl necklace, although you may see this piece 'worn' on the body, the forms depicted within the transparent acrylic are actually false illusions made completely of negative space. It may seem like there are convincing pearls suspended in the clear cubes, the wearer can never make direct skin contact with them, much like how we cannot reach out and touch our non-physical data we rely on daily.
