My collection "Digital Desires" explores the untouchability of the digital age.Typically within the jewellery world a huge amount of value is still placed on materiality or precious materials. However, we also now place a lot of value in our digital data too. My pieces represent the dip between reali
ty and virtual reality.
In these brooch pieces, the typical chain link forms are fragmented into its digital wire mesh forms and almost like crumbs of the first chain necklace. Broken into separate pieces, the original chain is almost indistinguishable and becomes its own abstract forms. I wanted to represent the way the digital is breaking down the physical and traditional.
