STATIC|MOTION
Drawing upon his own youth, STATIC|MOTION by dancer and designer Saul Nash is a self-choreographed collection that looks to quietly re-invent sportswear. Conceived as a flowing dialogue between movements, ideas of male performativity take centre-stage as garments dance with the wearer
and act as a medium for self-expression.
Meticulously cut patterns reveal many dual-purposes, actively challenging the wearer while only ever feeling organic. Nash presents his garments as sportswear subtly subverted – bringing attention to the enabling luxury of activewear and a freedom everyone can engage with.
The collection makes use of Performance Fabrics, luxury knits, Kaihara denims, and fastenings courtesy of YKK. With a process that is the outcome of personal connections of friends and dancers of Saul’s circle, STATIC MAN vs MAN IN MOTION is inspired by the lasting effect of adolescent stylings of sportswear and its place as social luxury.
