MAZARINE - S20 - TRILOGIE NEW-YORKAISE

1 – It was a wrong number that started it. To be precise, we know that he wrote mystery novels. Fabrics like papers, manuscripts, deletions. More than anything else, what he liked to do was walk. New York, a labyrinth of endless steps. Window pants. The curiosity of passers-by. The city always left him with the feeling of being lost. By wandering aimlessly, all places became equal.

2 – First of all there is Blue. Later there is White, and then there is Black, and before the beginning there is Brown. That is how it begins. The place is New York ; the time is the present ; and neither one will ever change.
The case seems simple enough. American fringes, the city’s spirit. The crossroad dresses, the mazes. It is a story of bricks, infinity, mysteries.

3 – It seems to me that Auster was always there. He is the place where everything begins for me. We met before we could talk. We made ourselves blood brothers for life. He had been living in New York – and I knew nothing about him anymore. The ikat camouflage, the anonymity of cities.

Nothing is real except chance. The show is in Paris, the story is in New York. It was a wrong number that started it.
