This piece is the early inspiration for the Bio-Articulation range, itself inspired by a combination of biomimicry in architecture and the vertebrae and fin structures of the ocean-going sailfish. It functions as a free-standing sculptural artefact or interiors. Detailed handmade elements reflect th
e desiccated textures bone with that of raw ceramic. Assembled from stoneware paper clay elements the resulting structure reflect both the articulation of biological skeletal forms and the modular construction of contemporary architecture to dramatic visual effect.
