In this collection, I have created garments that young Muslim girls can wear to make themselves feel connected to modesty decreed by their faith and the opportunity clothes gives to express ourselves that will connect us to the modern world, and a chance to express our inner self.

rge piece of cloth that is wrapped around the head and upper body leaving only the face exposed, worn especially by Muslim women. It enables Muslim women to protect themselves from prying eyes of men in a patriarchal society. It completely hides the body and shape of a woman. I am developing garments that are closer to the body (more shape revealing yet still modest). My vision is to create a garment using geometrical shapes, often seen in mosques, using multilayers.

My clothes express the struggle for the new Muslim female identity. The struggle that shows all that they value in our tradition, letting them keep the essence of their faith and their identity.I am keeping what is positive about being a young Muslim woman, but allowing them to emerge from the shadow of the patriarchal.
