Spécialisé dans la conception et le développement d'objets à lʼapparence faussement simple destinés à une large diffusion, Neil Poulton crée son studio à Paris en 1992. Il est connu pour ses designs technologiques comme l'emblématique disque dur Rugged chez LaCie, vendu à plus de 6 millions dʼex
emplaires, et pour ses nombreux luminaires édités chez Artemide.
Neil Poulton a remporté des nombreux prix de design internationaux dont sept prix français "étoile de l'observateur du design", douze prix allemands "red dot design", cinq prix "if" international forum design, trois prix français "janus de l'industrie", deux "recommendation premio compasso d'oro" et deux "best of the best" red dot design awards.
Ses créations sont entrées dans la collection permanente contemporaine du Centre Georges Pompidou à Paris - sa lampe Scopas, créée pour Artemide, fait partie de la collection permanente du V&A Dundee en Ecosse. La première grande exposition monographique « Design by Neil Poulton » a eu lieu à la Glyptothèque de Zagreb en 2013.
Neil Poulton fait partie du classement du Time Magazine : "The Design 100 – les gens et les idées derrière le design le plus influent d'aujourd'hui ".

poulton has won numerous international design awards, including seven french "etoile de l'observeur du design" prizes, twelve german red dot design awards, five "if" international forum design prizes, three french "janus de l'industrie" awards, two "recommendation premio compasso d'oro" and two "best of the best" red dot design awards.
neil poulton's designs are included in the permanent contemporary collection of centre georges pompidou in paris - he has been listed in time magazine's "the design 100 : the people and ideas behind today's most influential design".
