The first impulse of this project was my fascination for the burning wood. From the chaos born a beauty. After several weeks of experimentation, I focused on the sanblasted-burned wood. I wanted to highlight two characteristics of the material.
The waterproofness, only functional quality afforded b
y burning, by transposing the ancestral technique shou sugi ban in objects of habitat, I declined a serie of vases emphasizing this unexpected function.
The second character is the graphic aspect given by fire and sandblasting, which accentuate the veins of the wood.
Declined in different objects (stool, tray, containers, bookends...) playing between the marquetry and the structure of the wood.
