Madeleine Oltra

Eyes on Talents member, Madeleine Oltra is an artist, designer, researcher based in France. She graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2020. Her practice ranges from field investigation and documentation, to performing material experiments and making objects. Her project, eucalyptus paper series, is a narrative research around eucalyptus and its discarded materials: leaves, nuts and bark. In Portugal, the eucalyptus populates the landscape, planted for the production of paper pulp. Madeleine Oltra developed an artisanal paper made from eucalyptus bark and used it to create paper sculptures. For this project, she worked with Bruno Pasdeloup, a traditional paper maker located in France who founded Papiers Pasdeloup.
