Sophia Taillet

Eyes on Talents member, Sophia Taillet, has created the exclusive Spinning Around collection for the opening of the new Grand Palais Boutique. This project is a continuation of the work she began with Spinning Mirror, presented at Paris Design Week in 2024, and her Time Erosion research project for which she spent a year exploring the links between design and dance, in collaboration with craftspeople, a dancer and a sound engineer. In an interview with Intramuros magazine, she explains: "Once shaped by the artisan, these objects passed into the hands of the dancer, who gave them a function. I thought it would be interesting to integrate perspectives other than those of the designer into the process, and to present them through a performance."
In September, for Paris Design Week and the Journées du Patrimoine, Sophia Taillet will be taking over the courtyard of the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature with Spinning Around, an installation made up of nine Spinning Mirror pieces, orchestrating a silent dance of shifting perceptions.
