François Azambourg

Eyes on Talents member, François Azambourg, surveys more than thirty years of practice in the exhibition « Légèretés manifestes », staged in an eco-responsible way at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, from March 9 to July 2, 2023. Recognized as one of the great figures of French design today, François Azambourg is a creator and a poet, committed to the pressing ecological issues of our time. Anchored in a constant search for lightness, economy of means and simplicity, his approach is open and unconstrained. In a world always more eager for objects and products, it is the long time of experimentation that nourishes his works.
Born in 1963, Francois Azambourg studied at the École régionale des beaux-arts de Caen before joining the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d’art (Ensaama). In each project, the designer works with a sincere approach while questioning and challenging the norm. His design offers a new perspective beyond the work itself, making the structure of the object visible and thus providing absolute transparency.
