Charles Kalpakian

Eyes on Talents member, French-Lebanese designer Charles Kalpakian, invites us to travel and discover his roots with Soul (Souvenir of United Lebanon), a wall light collection for DCWéditions. ⁠Soul is a collective Mediterranean memory, with sunlight at the heart of the project. Providing the intrigue, it appears from nowhere, invisible and naturally magical, like the sun's rays that penetrate a house through a half-open door. In this self-confessed biographical exercise, the designer delivers each lamp with a small metal character, either seated or standing, to place on it.
Charles Kalpakian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1982. He opened his own studio in 2011 and has been developing his own projects ever since. He draws his inspiration from his roots in France and Lebanon, as well as from the culture of street-art.
