Edgar Jayet & Victor Fleury, students in Interior Architecture and Design at Ecole Camondo, won the Grand Prix Design Parade Toulon Van Cleef & Arpels and the Mention Spéciale Eyes on Talents x Frame. It was the 5th edition of the Design Parade Toulon, an international festival dedicated to interior architecture organised by Villa Noailles. For the festival they presented a siesta room inspired by Les Noces (1938) and Le premier Homme (1994) written by Albert Camus. The room was created to be a refuge to the heat, inspired by the Mediterranean interior architecture. They studied traditional methods to learn how to protect oneself from the heat and find a new rhythm in the shadow.

Prix Mobilier National
Clémence Plumelet & Geoffrey Pascal won the Prix Mobilier National. For the Design Parade Toulon they created a room imagined to be the memory of a space, an invented space where it is possible to disconnect, to let oneself go fulfilling the function of a lounge-bar where everything becomes possible. The project takes roots in the 60's and 70's decades, and especially the movie La Piscine from Jacques Deray (1969), the Locus Solus collection from Gae Aulenti edited by Poltronova in 1964, and the inflatable furnitures of the Aerospace collection from Quasar Khanh edited in 1967.

Cécile Canel & Jacques Averna won the Grand Prix du Jury Design Parade Hyères and the Prix Sammode at the 15th edition of the Design Parade Hères, an international festival dedicate to design organised by Villa Noailles. Their project "Vire-volt" is a series of self-sufficient signs that work thanks to the discrete energy sources that already surround us, and that have always been there: natural light, wind, the mechanical movements of everyday life and the electricity that the city already mobilises, and whose use can be optimised. Its aim is to find attractive alternatives to the neon tube which comes with issues of energy consumption and endangerment of biodiversity in the cities where the lights never turn off.

Mention Spéciale Eyes On Talents x Frame
Johanna Seeleman won the Mention Spéciale Eyes On Talents x Frame. Her project "Terra Incognita" is a collection of products that proposes to embrace the constant transformation of styles and aesthetic languages while incorporating adaptation and change through its materiality. The collection is rethinking industrial clay, a material traditionally used for styling prototype car surfaces. The prototyping material’s properties are elevated to serve as the product material. The goal is to propose transformation as an inherent quality of a product by reshaping its body instead of replacing it.

Master Photography
Sara Bastai, graduate from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, won the Eyes on Talents x ECAL Mention in Master Photography for her photographic serie RAM_1.0. "RAM_1.0 is a project that originates from the collaboration between myself and Artificial Intelligence." explains Sara Bastai. It is a fictional narrative of her life, based on her personal visual archive, yet constructed and mediated by AI. Focused on the interaction between images and text, AI analyses her memories and reinterprets its captions in order to create new staged images.

Master Product Design
Maxwell Ashford, graduate from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, won the Eyes on Talents x ECAL Mention in Master Product Design for his RUEI-01 robotically recyclable shoe. RUEI-01 was designed to be robotically recycled with materials' information digitally embedded into it. This allows robots to fully recycle the shoe by disassembling and sorting materials, with all data provided, even colour codes and original sources of materials. Existing recyclable shoes focus on mono-materialising. RUEI-01 scopes the potential of multi-material durability and performance, with recycling by robotic sorting.

Master Type Design
Chiachi Chao, graduate from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, won the Eyes on Talents x ECAL Mention in Master Type Design with his Kleisch typeface. Bi-scriptual typesetting is a challenge for graphic designers. Even more in an era of cross-cultural exchanges. Kleisch is a Latin serif typeface designed to be composed with Chinese fonts in the Ming style. Kleish is not matching with a specific font, but as a variable font, it offers adjustable axes (weight and contrast) to adapt with different Ming typefaces in order to match with the most common Chinese font used nowadays.

ANDAM Grand Prize
British men's wear designer, Bianca Saunders won the ANDAM Grand Prize 2021. While drawing on her British and West Indian background, Saunders also questions existing notions of masculinity in her designs. "My main aim for the brand was to create that balance. You get the really over-masculine guy and effeminate guy existing in the same world. Even the pieces can be seen as slightly more feminine. I think this is how I create the energy that brings something different, and more things to the men’s wear conversation." said Bianca Saunders recently to WWD.

Pierre Bergé Prize
EgonLab, a brand introduced in 2019 by Florentin Glémarec and Kévin Nompeix won the Pierre Bergé Prize, which focuses on young French companies. The brand is named after Austrian painter Egon Scheile and its "tailored urban-punk DNA aims to dress all body shapes, all genders of all ages without ever distorting them." "We think a brand should cater to and defend all genders. Inclusivity is not just about targeting a minority. Real inclusivity is when you talk to everyone and we want to go the whole way with that approach". In their presentation to the jury, the duo enlisted Glémarec’s grandparents, René and Marie-Louise to model some looks.

Fashion Accessories Prize
Leather goods specialist Aswad won the Fashion Accessories Prize. Sonia Ahmimou founded the Aswad leather goods workshop in Paris in 2015 after spending more than a decade learning the métier at Louis Vuitton, Moynat and Hermès. Her brand name derives from the literary Arabic phrase "hajar el aswad" meaning the black stone. According to her brand’s website, its aesthetic is located "at the crossroads of Moroccan and French craftsmanship and in our attachment to the preservation of traditional skills."

Prix ellipse
Ibrahima Ndome is the winner of the Prix ellipse's first edition. An initiative developed by the Ellipse Art Projects endowment fund, honouring each year the artistic creation of an sub-Saharan African or Asian country; while at the same time raising collective awareness of the environment through the messages conveyed by the artists. Ibrahima Ndome (Dakar) is part of the Atelier Ndokette collective, alongside Safi Niang (Conakry/Paris) and Souleymane Bachir Diaw (Dakar/Paris). Ndokette is the Senegalese word for tunic, it aims to represent the Senegalese cultural heritage perduring through time. They have been working together since 2019 and use photography and fashion design as their main mediums to question this notion of temporality through artistic experimentation.
