The project Aufbruch_Umbruch_`89 combines the
contrasts of my fictional character Ronnies past and
future, wounds and healing, uniformity and
self-determination, standard color and individual denim.
Aufbruch_Umbruch_`89 metaphorically deals with the fall of the Berlin wall and the associated depar
ture into a new world, the experience of a change towards freedom and the destruction of an unconstitutional state. According to Ronald Reagan‘s speech of June 12, 1987:
“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!“
