fects. The role of the agents is to stimulate and implement the design with the designer. This collection is the result of the collaboration between the stripe generator and the designer’s improvising skills. The designer curates the randomness created by the stripe generator and the materials in the knitting process. The knitting materials focused on experimenting with random effects of knitted stripes by inventing tensions between different knitting structures, yarns and colours. In order to execute the textile systematically and spontaneously on knitwear, I developed a digital stripe generator according to the tested samples. The collection materials were realised by collaborating with the stripe generator in different ways and then knitted by industrial and hand-operated knitting machines. Afterwards, I collaged and draped the rectangular knitted pieces according to their random textures to explore interactional structures and shapes. The design statement was pronounced by aesthetically controlling and reacting to the randomness. After experiencing the gradually curated process of producing the knitwear, I reused and collaged my random stripped samples as accessories to reach a new dynamic balance between random and curated beauty in the collection. This collection explores an innovative design method with high technology for my future practice.
