SAGES are an innovative dye company researching, developing and manufacturing textile dyes from food waste.
Their dyes are an environmentally friendly alternative to the toxic dyes currently used by much of the fashion industry. SAGES are currently working on R&D to give these dyes the same performa
nce standards synthetic dyes can reach for colour fastness, UV fade, wet and dry rub.
Comprised of Alice Simpson and Emily Taylor - SAGES began developing their idea in 2020 when they noticed that the lack of commercially viable natural dyes presented a huge barrier to fashion and textile companies wishing to be more sustainable. As Masters graduates of London College of Fashion, and with significant industry experience (15 years combined experience working for brands such as H&M, Topshop, ASOS and Uniqulo), their knowledge at the cross section of fashion and sustainability allowed them to realise this was a massive opportunity to minimise the negative impacts fashion has.
