Based on a gradient optical illusion by Akiyoshi Kitaoka, our eyes perceive colours differently based on the shade of the background on which they are placed. The moving disks are actually the same colour.
I wanted to visualise the passing of time through colour - the resulting objects are a transla
tion of this effect animated through the use of simple but elegant mechanics.
