The clients desired an industrial loft in this atypical apartment located in a 17th-century mansion, so we drew inspiration from the history of this district once populated by shops and workshops to infuse it with a 1900s spirit.
We recreated the parquet floors, wood panelling and shutters typical o
f the 17th century, and preserved the patina of the beams hidden beneath two false ceilings. The industrial spirit is expressed by the mezzanines, skylights, cast-iron posts and spiral staircases, and the radiators look as if they've always been there, even though they're salvaged items.
Wallpaper, chandeliers and other decorative elements add a contemporary touch, tying the whole together in a natural way and bringing it into the present day.
