gh the act of dressing up. I believe that it is time for women to wear clothing that literally shines, to highlight their curves, accentuate their tummies, praise their bosoms, accentuate their butts, glorify their “lacks” thereof.
This collection aims to celebrate the unique female body. With inspiration stemming from mid-century womenswear, 1980’s pop star performance costumes, and my grandma’s closet, this collection fuses traditional, restrictive tropes with the shine of rhinestones and the provocation of skin.

Through these themes, this collection takes on a new perspective of evening wear- one that is not exclusive to celebrities and models, but is meant for the majority of women who do not see their bodies on the screen, red carpet, or runway. By calling attention to the female form through glamorous silhouettes and materials, the clothing will embody the fabulousness of the women wearing them.

Due to Covid-19, I had to leave school before the second semester was over. Fortunately, I was able to cast the women in my family as my models, which really made my creative process come full-circle, as my grandmother was my main inspiration for the collection.

Photographed by me at my grandmothers house.
