«Hydro» is photography documentary about hydroelectric facilities in Switzerland. Dams are unusual constructions, with a sacred dimension. Being at the foot of a dam is like being at the bottom of the pyramids, immensity is contemplating us. Man shapes the landscape and the slow movement of the mount
ains to discipline the impetuousness of the water. Inside these singular buildings, looking like palaces, screens display water flows, figures scroll as in the stock exchange. And we watch them with the attention of the faithful in a temple of Modernity. The installations are the result of a human adventure that is part of Swiss history and the realization of many technical advances. Yet like every deity, these constructions constraining nature can be devastating.
