BenchBots is a living light installation that responds to human activities around the bench, located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The amphitheater bench along a canal which was constructed for Summer Olympics in 2012 has been abandoned since then. The concept of the project is lighting the area u
p again, create a living bench that activates by existing activities such as sitting, running or cycling. The more activities around the bench, the more living lights in the environment.
Further than responding to movements and behaviors,
it also encourages more explorations of the site and demonstrates relationships between people and the built environment.
