Pathos is a typeface resulting from the interpretation of an Old Style American model and in particular from the Ronaldson Old-Style. The project started as a research about the evolution of the “Old Style”, from Edinburgh to America. Its gentle contrast and its wide proportions give shape to an hapt
ic feeling. It is carrying a classic charm in its text patterns, that is evolving into a contemporary and metallic taste as soon as it is displayed in big sizes. Its identity investigates the contrast between the mass-usage aspect of the original model and its timeless shapes. It is developed in a small family composed of three roman cuts: regular, bold and narrow black and their italic partners.
