o work with identity so my starting point was the baptismal dress: I took some elements and I translated them into more "adults" garments. During the baptism ceremony for catholics people symbolically receive an identity from someone else. My final purpose was to create my personal mirror of the contemporary reality, where the identity is often manipulated by external factors, like advertising and social media, that encloses us into a bubble "tailored" for us. My desire was to break this bubble deconstructing the baptismal dress, modifying its volume and adding lots of embroidery taken from ready made objects of common use.
My fascination for these objects brougth me to collect old crochets, silverware, lamp crystals and other various things that captured my attention during the years. They had a strong evocative power on my and that's the reason why I used them. They had a strong identity as objects. I transformed objects into embroidery, giant paillettes, accessories, or I used them as a photographic negative for my prints.
