Although you may see this piece 'worn' on the body, the knotted rope form depicted within the transparent acrylic is actually a false illusion made completely of negative space. The real cotton rope dips into the non-real image of the knotted rope in the block. The wearer can never make direct skin contact with the form suspended within, much like how we cannot reach out and touch our non-physical data we rely on daily.
