Matrix armchair designed for the Plumbum Publishing House.
This work began in January 2017 when Plumbum consulted us to create a living room furniture that can also be installed outside.
From the first sketches, we have focused on giving the seat a feeling of comfort, both visually and in its u
se. The Chesterfield sofa quickly established itself. Matrix is an reinterpretation : the dimples are here returned as a glove, revealing the structure in wire mesh. This forms a corset compressing the softness of the seat and back to print an organic geometry. This tension generated by the interaction between two antagonistic materials evokes the traditional technique of blown glass in a cage.
The first prototype of the chair Matrix is currently exhibited by the VIA at the French Institute of Milan as part of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
