Galaxy Gang was a collection comissioned by brazilian brand Saloon 33. It was such an incredible experience having control over all aspects of the collection - from colour, to placement of the patches and fit and shape of the garments.
The briefing gave a theme for the collection, which would be “
Space” and outlined how the collection needed to appeal to wide audience of fashion savvy young adults and teens at low market level. From there, I gathered references from 70s cinema and cartoons to develop the textiles and used trend-let urban silhouettes, focusing on shapes that were trending in the brazilian market at the end of 2016. It was a great experience to source fabrics directly from suppliers and liase with factories to create textiles that used mass production techniques in creative ways.
