Fuck Fashion Performance

Fuck Fashion was a performance piece that debued at the Edinburgh Cabaret Night: Serendipity Extravaganza.

I currated the performance piece as a way of bringing a sense of character to my Autumn/Winter '17 collection and the collections of fellow Edinburgh College of Art Fashion Graduates. I feel th

at often when we exhibit fashion the person wearing the clothes is forgotten and instead models are viewed as clothes hangers. My performance piece acted as an alternative to the original catwalk format of a fashion show. Instead of models walking up and down the runway they acted out every-day scenarios, such as making cups of tea, washing dishes and attending parties. My aim with this was to demonstrate that fashion is for people and to challenge the fashion status quo of exclusive parties and unrealistic beauty standards.
