Coco Brun
Eyes on Talents member, Coco Brun is taking part in the Vision y Tradición exhibition at the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico, until 3 November. In collaboration with Mexican studio Marmoles Covarrubias, the French multidisciplinary artist presents Facets of Stone, a series of marble vases and sculptures inspired by Mexico City's Brutalist architectural heritage. The collection was designed using residual materials and waste from other production lines, highlighting a sustainable approach that gives each piece a unique character. Produced with the support of IFAL (Institut français d'Amérique latine), in partnership with the Institut français, the Mobilier national and Design Week Mexico, Facets of Stone is part of the Immersion Francia en México programme, which focuses on design and crafts.
Coco Brun creates installations, textiles, paintings and sculptures that bring together art and craft. Her work places particular emphasis on the reuse of materials and the exploration of sustainable practices in the face of environmental challenges. She also engages in manual craftsmanship, regularly collaborating with artisans around the world and weaving together traditional skills and contemporary approaches.
