Eyes on Talents member, Karyn Lim, launched So Plast!c at SaloneSatellite during Milan Design Week 2023, then in Singapore at Designers & Crafters Edition 01, Industry+ x Sol Luminaire. So Plast!c harnesses the potential of plastic waste to exist as permanent pieces of design art instead of being discarded into landfills. So Plast!c small tables are made from recycled plastics from food and drink packaging, while the So Plast!c vessels are hand-woven from used plastic grocery bags. With this new series, Karyn Lim seeks to change perceptions of the potential of plastic waste and its ability to exist as a permanent, even statement piece in our spaces.
Karyn Lim is an industrial designer based in Singapore. Experimenting with a variety of materials, her multidisciplinary design studio creates in collaboration with brands and artisans.
