Almudena Romero

Eyes on Talents member, Almudena Romero, is exhibiting her project The Pigment Change at Fisheye Gallery in Paris until January 6, 2024, on the occasion of the release of her second book, published by Fisheye Éditions. Through luminous experiments, each series explores our relationship with nature, but also the role of the artist in the context of the current climate crisis. In order to obtain images, Almudena Romero invents new ecological techniques, exposing plants to specific quantities of light and at particular wavelengths. The result is a series of organic, ephemeral works that challenge traditional conceptions of photography. "I don’t use photography to document facts. It’s not about making a photo, it’s about cultivating it. The photo is alive", explains Almudena Romero.
Spanish artist, Almudena Romero, lives and works between London and Valencia. In her work, she examines our relationship with the environment, while questioning the role it plays in the current ecological crisis. Using processes naturally present in flora, she reflects on production, reproduction and sustainability at the interface between science, art, philosophy and the intimate.
