Caroline Venet

Eyes on Talents member, Caroline Venet, presented her work at the Biennale Émergences organized by Est Ensemble at the Centre national de la danse in Pantin earlier this month. This 7th edition offered a committed program aimed at creating links and opening up dialogue around crafts and design, highlighting a new generation of talent from the East of Paris. Caroline Venet presented her series of pendant lights Onde(s) and a unique piece Trame. Made with reused leather, their shape reminds the leather skins stored at the tanner and the shape of an oblong punch, a tool for cutting leather. The leather is at the same time molded, perforated, then suspended without addition.
Caroline Venet founded Studiofoam in 2018, a design studio created as a laboratory. Between experimentation and material reuse, she offers her interpretation of materials through sustainable design projects, often in collaboration with artisans. Focused on soft textures and shapes encouraging touch, her work tends to get closer to the living.
