Xavier Brisoux

Eyes on Talents member, Xavier Brisoux, introduces a new turning point in his artistic research with the exhibition Du Point à La Ligne, still on view at the Villa Cavrois. The artist presents seven pieces from his Maille Haute-Sculpture collection, a concept that consists of knitting abstract volumes that can be considered as objects/sculptures or that can come to rest on the body. Sometimes inherited from the past, sometimes projections of the future, his body sculptures assume and play with the contradiction between the primitive and the avant-garde. Through his work, the borders of textiles and art are blurred and the yarn becomes architecture.
Eager to develop a sculptural collection where the soft technique of knitting becomes structure, Xavier Brisoux, designer and textile craftsman, has developed for several years, an exceptional know-how revealing all the architecture of his pieces. 2022 winner of the Concours Ateliers d’Art de France, Xavier Brisoux will be present for the second time, next June, at Révélations at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris.
