Kata Geibl

Eyes on Talents member, Kata Geibl's first monograph, There is Nothing New Under the Sun, is published by Void. Carefully planned images are mixed with stream-of-consciousness texts. A poetic approach emerges through allegories, personal short stories and image pairs. By juxtaposing the melting glaciers of Dachstein, animals under human control, muscular bodies, industrialized cities, the series deals with the rampant individualism that underpins our contemporary social, political and economic system, and in particular, the environmental impact that it has. Kata Geibl’s takes the viewer on a journey, guiding their mind and creativity into the direction of the story behind the images.
Kata Geibl was born in 1989 in Budapest. Her work is mainly focused on global issues, capitalism, the Anthropocene and the ambiguities of the photographic medium.
